Although Amira and Marco broke up all the way in May, I'm still gonna post the rest of my story here lol....
Warning: Contains foul language and fighting
*Two days later, at the park*
(Bonnie and Amira walk to a nearby bench and sit down. Amira opens her phone and starts scrolling through it. Bonnie looks over at what she's doing. Amira glares at Bonnie and pulls her phone back. Bonnie quickly looks away.)
Bonnie: Oops. Sorry (she chuckles nervously).
Amira: (puts her phone in her purse) Anyways, why are we here?
Bonnie: So, Amira. Promise you won't get mad at me-?
Amira: It depends on what you've done.
Bonnie: (fiddles her fingers together) Well, I may have been spying on you and your boyfriend, and-
Amira: Wait, what?!
Bonnie: Let me finish!
(Amira immediately stops talking)
Bonnie: Anyways, I went to Marco's house to drop something off, right? And I hear you two arguing, so I open the door, and I see you yelling at him and he's getting defensive and stuff. What was all that about?
Bonnie: (cuts her off) Keep in mind that I will also be hearing Marco's side of the story.
Amira: Okay. Anyways, I went over to my boyfriend's house to help him with something, and then all of a sudden, he just puts his arms around my waist while I'm working. Then I tell him to give me some space. He gets all defensive and tells me that I (she uses air-quotes) 'never spend time with him' and that I 'don't love him anymore'. That's obviously absolute bullshit, so I tell him that, and he just plays the victim and tells me that I'm a 'terrible girlfriend' and I 'never pay attention to him'! So we argue for a while, then I finally decide to just leave. Of course, he tries to follow me, but I don't let that happen.
Bonnie: (pauses for a bit) Hmm. I see. What if I told you that he's also coming to the park soon?
Bonnie: You guys really need to sort this out or else your relationship will just f-
(Marco shows up and stands in front of the two)
Marco: What? Bonnie! What's she doing here?!
Bonnie: Well, I had to get you to come somehow! (She shrugs her shoulders) Anyway, why were you and Amira fighting a couple days ago?
(Marco develops a look of confusion on his face.)
Amira: Babe, she knows about our fight.
Marco: How- never mind. Anyways, you want my side of the story?
Bonnie: Yes, please.
Marco: Well, I called my girlfriend- Amira- over to help me move some furniture around, and she came over. All I did was put my arms around her. She yelled at me to not, and I asked her why-
Amira: No you didn't! You complained and-
Bonnie: Amira, let him finish!
(Silence for a short moment)
Marco: Anyway, so I asked her why I should take my hands off, and she has the nerve to call me 'clingy' and 'defensive'! All I wanted to do was hug you, Amira!
Amira: Well, you always hug me! Why couldn't you wait until I didn't have a 60-inch TV in my arms?!
Marco: I didn't think you would complain about a hug!
Amira: (stands up in front of Marco and Bonnie) Of course I'm going to complain! I could've dropped that TV on my foot or something!
Bonnie: (stands between the couple) Guys, please! Why can't you two just stop fighting? You love each other, don't you?
Marco: Yes I do! But please stay out of this, Bonnie!
Amira: Actually, I'm starting to rethink my love for Marco (glares at Marco with anger on her face).
Bonnie: No, I brought you guys to help make things better-
Marco: Amira, you never want to spend time with me anymore! I thought what we had was special!
Amira: I do want to spend-
Amira: All I asked for was space! But no, you couldn't respect that, even just a little! I do want affection, but it's so annoying having someone constantly breathing down my neck! It's like you need me 24 fucking 7 or else you'll spontaneously combust!
Marco: I never said any of that! It's just I have attachment issues! I hate the feeling of being alone!
Bonnie: May I add that you were never that way with Coco?
Amira and Marco: (in unison) What?!
Bonnie: Yep! Coco told me how you never wanted to spend time with her when you two were together. She was never too clingy or distant either! She loved you and you left her! For no reason.
Marco: What did you expect? She never talks!
Amira: (folds her arms and exhales) You're fucking incompetent.
Bonnie: Also heartless.
(Marco walks away while Amira sits back down. Bonnie sits next to her and buries her face in her hands. The park is silent for about 10 minutes)
Amira: (on the verge of tears) What's your problem, Bonnie?
Bonnie: (also tearing up) I thought I could fix you guys. It's my fault that you two are about to split up.
Amira: It's most definitely not your fault. Something you should know before jumping into a relationship is... It's not going to be perfect. Both of you are going to make the mistake of having unrealistic expectations. But you two will argue at least a few times. One of you will be clingy and affectionate, and the other will be distant and wanting space once in a while. And love really is a gamble: you think you've met your soulmate until you two turn on each other.
Bonnie: But what about-?
Amira: And I know you see the good in everybody and their relationships. But sometimes it's impossible to fix people. Especially those who refuse to be fixed. And I know it's going to take a while, but you eventually have to learn to prioritize your own needs over those who you are trying to change.
(Silence for a short moment)
Bonnie: (gently smiles and stands up) Thanks, Amira. And I hope you and Marco do just fine.
Amira: Heh. Probably not to be honest.
